French Drain Installation

When water is saturating the soil and seeping toward your home, a French drain gives it somewhere else to go. We handle French drain installation from the trench to the outlet so subsurface water gets intercepted and carried away.

Overview

What this involves.

A French drain is one of the most reliable ways to deal with persistent groundwater, and it works by giving water an easy path into perforated pipe set in gravel below grade. We dig the trench to the right depth and slope, lay filter fabric, set the perforated pipe in clean stone, and route it to a daylight outlet or drainage point where the water can safely leave. Whether the trouble is a wet basement wall, a constantly soggy stretch of yard, or runoff collecting against the house, we build the drain to keep working season after season without clogging.

What's included
  • Locating the wet area and planning the trench line and outlet
  • Excavating the trench to a consistent depth and downhill slope
  • Lining the trench with filter fabric to keep soil out of the system
  • Setting perforated pipe in a bed of clean drainage gravel
  • Wrapping and backfilling so silt can't clog the pipe over time
  • Routing the line to a daylight outlet or approved drainage point
  • Restoring the surface with soil, sod, or gravel over the finished drain
