Brick & Stone Column Construction

What this involves.

A column has to be true on every face, so a level footing and careful coursing are what make it look right. We pour or set a solid footing below grade, then build the column up in brick or stone with each course level and the corners plumb and square. We keep the joints tight and consistent on all sides and work in any sleeves or conduit for lighting, mailboxes, or gate hardware as the design calls for. We finish with a cap that sheds water and ties the column together. The result is a clean, solid column that looks built to stay.
