Natural Stone Walkway

What this involves.

Building with natural stone is part craft and part fitting, since every piece is different in size, shape, and thickness. We prepare a compacted, well-drained base, then lay out the stone to balance color, size, and joint width across the whole path. Depending on the look you want, we set the stone on a sand base or mortar it over a slab, fitting and trimming pieces so they sit flat and walk evenly. We slope the walkway for drainage and fill the joints to keep the stones stable. The finished path feels solid and looks like it belongs in the yard.
